Microneedling for acne scar removal
In this article we’re going to go over how to most effectively reduce the appearance of your scars with microneedling treatments.
Microneedling for Acne Scars:
Microneedling is an extremely effective treatment for those suffering with acne scars. Our medical spa utilized the DermaPen, this tool features a motorized, piston-driven array of tiny, ultra-thin surgical steel needles at its tip. The DermaPen works to rapidly puncture the skin creating thousands of tiny wounds as the device passes over the treatment area.
Acne scar removal with the DermaPen is a minimally invasive treatment that requires no downtime. Depending on the depth of the treatment, topical anesthetic may be applied so that our guests will experience virtually no discomfort.
Creating these micro wounds works to stimulate the body’s natural healing processes without causing real damage to the skin. This results in new and healthier looking skin. This treatment is referred to as collagen induction therapy (CIT).
Additionally the application of a topical serum will be included in your microneedling acne scar removal treatment. Powerful skincare ingredients penetrate deeply and are more effective in the skin because of the micro wounds created.
Microneedling for acne scars has been proven to enhance skin rejuvenation and is far safer for our guests with a reported faster recovery time than other traditional skin treatments. Microneedling is also a preferred alternative to prescription drugs that may cause side effects such as, skin irritation and/ or sun sensitivity. By harnessing the body’s ability to repair itself with this powerful technology you can begin to improve the look of your acne scars!
